How to dress for a changing weather..

With Vasant Panchmi behind us, the arrival of spring or Vasant has been officially declared. Now is the time for a transition in weather....the winters are packing up and the warmth and colours of spring are opening up every day. But this weather can sometimes be a little tricky to dress up. You don't know what to actually wear....your thick sweatshirt or a sheer top? A sleeveless kurti and cotton leggings or probably a full sleeve acrylic tunic with thick trousers? An open airy sandle or a closed cosy footwear? At times light clothes will make you feel underdressed for the temperature and wearing warm fabrics will make you feel stuffy and even sweaty. The trick here is to add thin layers to your look which can easily be adjusted when needed. Here are some ideas:

Adding a lightweight shrug and a scarf to a sheer top can make it more comfortable for cooler hours. Keep the footwear semi formal. Socks can be added. Accessorise with colourful jewellery and bright handbag to add the fun element.

Similarly, light cardigans or shawls can be added to a kurti and legging combo for a warmer feel.
The choice of sleeve can be kept to 3/4th for this weather. Cotton blends, polyesters and pure cottons work well for this climate. Stoles can be a good option which go well with both Indian and western wear. Keep away from woolen blends and acrylic fabrics. Silks too would be a good choice, especially for evenings.

Bellies and pumps are my choice of footwear for this weather. With a western outfit smart moccasins or loafers too will look chic and keep the feet covered at the same time. Opt for bright colours if your outfit is neutral.
